From Riches to Rags was written and illustrated by sixth grade students of Grace Episcopal School in Monroe, La in Ouachita Parish. Ralph Raccoon loses his job at the local bank during The Great Depression. This is the story of how Ralph and his family survived the hard times in Ouachita Parish during this period in history. These students interviewed elders who lived in Ouachita Parish during The Great Depression. The students recorded the information obtained from their elders, and they wrote this book for young readers to learn and understand the events that occurred during this era of history.
